A set of stairs I built with the help of Bill Ward

Designing castle parts

making molds

Casting parts

Castle parts

We had a mason, Rick Hauer, putting it all together, and a hell of a mason he was!

The castle was conceived by the owner Cliff Slinkard (on left). I was mostly involved in designing and implementing the tricky details.

well used molds

piggie - sculpted in clay, molded with silicone and cast in concrete

torch guts

Flipping a switch by the barbeque grille turns on the gas and triggers the igniters

The skeleton of the shroud. A Marlon Blackwell design that Bill Ward and I are building in the rennovation of the old public library.

$300 Geo Metro - it was smoking and rattling - broken piston apron and rings

Freshly rebuilt Metro engine. Had crankshaft ground and cylinders bored. New pistons, valves, oil pump, etc.

Since then, the Metro is running really well. getting a solid 43 miles per gallon, as of feb 2007, I estimate it has saved me approx 300 gallons of fuel. I drove it to Gallup, NM and back (1800 miles), and at an average of 70 MPH, it got 41.5 MPG.

UPDATE: June 2007 My mileage has increased to 48 (mostly highway, but some city). I think the engine must have developed full compression by now - maybe I have slowed down a little, too. Still running great!
