A Terrazzo Bathroom Countertop
This project was a collaboration between Rodger, Patty and myself. These pictures don't do it justice - it has to be felt and gazed into to fully appreciate.

The aggregates are crushed glass, marble and a few pieces of petrified wood.
The surface is ground and polished with several grits of diamond and silicon carbide abrasive. We take it up to a very nice smooth polish. (600-1800 grit)

One of our tricks is to do the layout upside down. We can take our time arranging pieces by sticking them into the mold with silicone. Then the colored cements with pretty aggregates are vibrated in with a home made vibrating table. Then, after everything cures for a couple of days, the countertop is taken out of the mold and there's several hours grinding and polishing. I think the thing I like about this material is that it has an amazing combination of natural serendipity and a feeling of timeless, enduring quality - with a touch of old-world civilization.

We are ready to take on a few select jobs for people who want something really unique. The price is $75.00 per square foot, installed.
