Table K December 2001

| The top is a terazzo sample made for a job. The top surface is polished smooth, the edges are rough ground with a light hand sanding. The wood is a piece of seasoned sassafrass. I popped it into the lathe to make a nice fit for the pipe rings on the top and bottom. | ||

The drawer is a fun feature. It is 12 guage steel TIG welded all the way around. It has a hinge welded into the corner and swings out. The top is supported by 3 1/4X1 strips, so it appears to be floating when the drawer is out. This piece was actually given as a Christmas present, and the recipient did not discover the drawer until she picked the table up to move it. That gave me a chuckle. |
